What I learned
For the Pecha Kucha presentation format, I chose to focus on obesity because it aligns with my personal lifestyle and values, especially staying active and eating healthily. I also wanted to bring attention to how serious obesity is, as it remains one of the leading causes of death in the United States and worldwide. My goal was to raise awareness and highlight practical ways to prevent obesity, especially for college students who often struggle to maintain healthy habits due to stress and busy schedules.
This assignment was meaningful to me because it introduced a new way of presenting information that relied heavily on visuals and timing. It challenged me to communicate clearly and efficiently while keeping the audience engaged. Through this experience, I learned to simplify complex health topics, present confidently under time limits, and better understand the broader factors contributing to obesity. These skills will be useful in my future career, especially in healthcare, where effective communication and education are important.
